light drawings

This project was really fun and it took us alot of tries to get it right, but it was cool to learn about shutter speed and how the camera takes in the visible light.  The different glow sticks and  phones and lazer pointers made different levels of light and shapes.  Also the amount of time that we left them in the frame effected the outcome.

canvas painting - aurora borealis

If I were in the place that I painted, near the north pole, the air would be cold and crisp. It wouldn't smell like  much because the cold air would freeze your nose. I would feel the harsh, cold wind whipping against my face. Hearing the wind whistle and some birds far off in the distance. I conveyed this strong wind by using wispy brushstrokes and pastel like colors to show the wind blowing over the landscape.

adobe illustrator flower

These are the flower I made in Adobe Illustrator. The part that was most fun was playing with the colors and the bloat. It was a pretty easy task

monster

This project was harder than the others. I think that mine didn't turn out that well and it looks creepy. When we were in the iPad lab I didn't really know what I wanted to do yet and i thought making darth maul out of clay would be pretty challenging. I wish i would have tried anyways though because it would be pretty cool.

ZENTANGLES

The hardest part about this project was that the walls were so large and we started off making the patterns so small, it was a really fun project though. It wasn't very fun on the days in the courtyard that were really really hot. It was alot easier to do on the sidewalk than on the walls. If we did this project again I think it would be cool if there were more colors and they were brighter.

I thought that this project was pretty successful. We had to be creative and use our brain power to think of scenarios for perspective pictures. If we were to do this project again I think it would help to have more props to inspire us. Other than that, I think we did well on this project.

Angry Pancake

MIDTERM POST

I chose this project as my most successful project. I think this was my most successful one so far because I think it really turned out well i and i really enjoyed doing the stencils and spray paint. My color choices and number of colors that i chose brought out the light source well and i think that it really looks like me. I lined up the stencils where they should be and it was successful in the end.

This is my shading project. I'd say that i learned the most from this project because it was one of the first ones that we did and i didn't really know alot about light source, scale of darkness, light source or any of that. I learned how to blend with a pencil and my hands and how to get from light to dark. Especially how to not be afraid of the dark. I feel much more experienced after this project.

Printing Project

I feel very successful with this project, I enjoyed getting to experiment and try different things with the ink and print. It was alot of fun.I think that I rushed a little big while creating my print and next time i would pay more attention to detail and take my time with it because it really looks cool in the places where  I had specific and intricate lines. the most difficult part of completing this piece was definately lining up the print when we were doing second layers. None of mine like that turned out very well, that's why I chose the one above for the picture. Also i really really love the colors in this particular print.

Spray paint

I had such a good time completing this project, and I learned alot about color value and making stencils. This has been my favorite project so far. I spray painted another piece of paper and drew on it with chalk and oil pastels. I don't think it ended up that well except for my hair, but it was fun getting to experiment with them.

SELF PORTRAIT

From doing this project I learned that there are mathmatical values to help you draw a face, but it is still pretty hard. Mine doesn't look like me very much, my eyes are too far apart and my mouth and nose is too small. I need to become un-afraid of the dark also.

This is going to be my photo for my SPRAY PAINT project

Value scale

This is my value scale drawing. The hardest part of this project was not being afraid of the dark and shading in the right places. I felt like i was shading really dark but looking at it now...it doesn't look very dark. I don't think that his hair is working very well. I think the nose, mouth, and chin look much better. I had alot of fun doing this project.

shadow junkpile project

This is the Junkpile project where we used different pieces of junk in front of a projector to cast shadows on the wall and create some sort of scene. Ours was successful because i think it looks like a pretty good bridge, and that's what we were going for. The two towers of the bridge are obviously two different things, but I like how they are different and i think it makes it interesting and kind of cool. The hardest parts of this piece were getting the sun to hang in the sky, and being able to get the yarn to show up when trying to make the wiring part of the center of the bridge.

Rhino in street

RHINO IN THE CITY!!! I used photoshop to put this animal in the middle of the street. It was fun

Hand Painting

I thought that with my animal being a butterfly, there wasn't a huge level of difficult because of of the lack of deatail. I just had to do the wings, body, and antenna's. This project ended up pretty successful because I think it turned out pretty well. Definately the hardest part about this project was trying to paint my left hand with my already painted right hand. From this proj I learned that there are more ways to express your art than just with clay or on paper.

My newimal is a combination of a bunny and wolf pup. The head of the wolf combined with the body of the bunny. I drew the skeleton with the big strong leg bones of a rabbit along with the spine and rib cage. With the skull of the wolf puppy I got to draw the canine teeth. Here, you can see Paige and I deep in thought.
